Notebooks have come a long way since their incarnations in the early eighties. Once considered as a status symbol, today they are a necessity, because of their easy portability and connectivity facility. With constant innovation in the notebook technology, modern notebooks have now a wide array of user-friendly features.

They are much lighter in weight, have more storage space and faster processing speed as compared to earlier notebooks. The prices of these modern notebooks also vary as per the rich convenient features. Notebooks manufacturers set the convenience features in notebooks according to consumers demand in market.

You are mistaken if you think these modern notebooks with its slim lighter weights are only available in higher price range. Depending upon its advanced features and storage capacity, there can be high-end expensive and the top budget notebooks. For budget conscious consumers, notebook manufacturers offer the top budget notebooks which are cheaper in price and lighter in performance.

While manufacturing the top budget notebooks, manufacturers trade off in hardware or software features to produce quality systems. Let`s face it; consumers who are in a shoe-string budget have to compromise either on price or on high-end performance.

But the top budget notebooks have all basic features and are capable of delivering full solutions for computer related tasks. With computing technology improving every year, today many varieties of the top budget notebooks are available with impressive set of core options in affordable price ranges.

It is wise to invest in the top budget notebooks. Of course the latest high-end ultra-slim notebooks offer much more as compared to these budget notebooks. But consider about the usability of so many high-end features. Not all of us need a high-speed notebook.

If you are into a dominating corporate world, constantly traveling and living life out of conference rooms and hotels, then a costly notebook justifies your requirement. But if emails and surfing the Internet are all you do, then having an expensive notebook is a waste of your money.

A basic top budget notebook is all you need in this scenario. Moreover, any unforeseen catastrophe such as stealing of your expensive notebook will put you in emotional shock which takes a long time to come out of. Even though you inevitably have to make a number of performance sacrifices, but the top budget notebooks will get your basic system related jobs done for a whole lot less.

Buying top budget notebooks can be a tricky task considering so many varieties and features available in market today. There are a few things which you must consider while looking for the top budget notebooks. First feature to watch out is the processor. It should definitely be dual core for dual core offers multi-tasking performance and has an extending battery life. It is good to opt for branded CPU manufacturers.

Another important feature is the RAM. It should be 1GB as minimum to be considered in the top budget notebooks. Large display screens and built-in wireless connectivity are other two basic features which you need to look into the top budget notebooks.

Some top budget notebooks also have standard DVD writer and Wi-Fi radio features. Unnecessary pre-loaded software actually slow down the top budget notebooks and hence should be avoided. Advance operating systems are always in sync with the top budget notebooks.

If you prefer, you can opt for downgrading to older platforms. The best thing is with an easy affordable price, these top budget notebooks have optional high-end available including HDMI inputs and touch-sensitive media control buttons. Although it costs a bit more, an extended warranty of 3years is better in the long run for the top budget notebooks.

Review of Hp, Sony, and Compaq Laptops

So do you prefer to call them laptops or do you prefer to call them notebooks. I am partial to notebooks as I never keep them on top of my lap. Jokes apart, purchasing a new notebook computer is really tough.

If you were to read the ads then each computer sounds better than the cat’s whiskers. But when you look close, they all look similar. At least the similarly priced ones tend to be similar. So, is there really a difference between one laptop and another? Or should I say one notebook and another?

To answer this very question, I am going to look at three popular computers that are currently on sale and compare them. The read can then take this to be the starting point and evaluate many other options to find the one that works best for them.

First of all, let us consider the HP Pavilion DV6426US, a machine that I powered by the Intel Core Duo Processor T2450. This multithreaded architecture based micro processor is well optimized for multi-tasking based performance. The fact that this notebook comes installed with 1 GB RAM should help run many of the contemporary popular applications at a good speed. It has a 160 GB Hard Drive which is nothing spectacular, but should do the trick in most cases. And the bundled operating system is the Microsoft Vista Premium. And I really like notebooks that come with an integrated WebCam. This HP laptop sure has one of those. In the absence of such a webcam, attempting Video IM becomes a serious pain.

Second let us consider the Sony VAIO VGN-FZ140E/B. This laptop too is powered by a Duo Processor, in this case the Intel Core 2 Duo Processor T7100. It beats the HP one in terms of RAM, as it comes with 2 GB RAM. Its hard disk is bigger at 200 GB. So, if Freud was right and size does matter then, well, this one has the bigger Hard Drive. The duo-core multithreading micro processor will deliver performance similar to the HP machine. This laptop comes with Microsoft Vista Home Premium.

Finally let us look at the Compaq Presario F572US. Like both the previous machines, this one too has a 15.4″ screen. Though it has a dual-core micro processor, the Compaq uses the AMD Athlon 64 Processor TK-53 and not an Intel based processor like the other two I wrote about. Also it has 1 GB RAM like the HP machine. Where I think it scores lower is in its hard disk capacity, a mere 80 GB. It also comes with the Microsoft Vista Premium.

All in all, the machines have pros and cons. I have not listed prices here, as they would change faster than I could type them out. But, make sure to look at the prices too.

Lenovo Thinkpad X300 Notebook Pc Review

In this Lenovo ThinkPad X300 Notebook PC Review “The Lenovo ThinkPad X300 is an ultra-portable 13.3? widescreen thin-and-light notebook. Touting a thickness of less than 1-inch, 0.73” at its thinnest, the Lenovo ThinkPad X300 still packs a full list of features. The Lenovo ThinkPad X300 is a prime example that ultra-portable notebooks can be fully functional and still reap all benefits that an ultra-portable form factor brings. First and foremost, it’s a ThinkPad, renown for quality, reliability and legendary performance.

Lenovo ThinkPad X300 Notebook PC Review taken from laptopmag”Both the MacBook Air and the Lenovo ThinkPad X300 push the envelope of the newest generation of ultraportables. And where the MacBook Air is more revolutionary, delivering an amazingly thin design but requiring users to adjust how they work, the ThinkPad is more evolutionary, delivering all the features users have come to expect (and adding a few they didn’t) in a scaled-down but still familiar package. You’ll pay a premium for the X300 (our configuration comes in at just under $3,000), but if a no-compromise notebook is what you need and shaving every ounce and millimeter counts, you won’t be disappointed.

The ThinkPad X300’s build quality is first-class and shows improvement over previous ThinkPads. It may not be recognizable at first glance but Lenovo has made significant strides in the design department. The X300 offers numerous design flourishes including a glossy bottom bezel, select illuminated buttons and — for the first time in the X Series — an integrated camera and stereo speakers. Lenovo went the distance here. Even covering little details such as painting the heat vents to match the rest of the exterior. It might not sound like much, but copper colored internals can really detract from the overall aesthetic of a notebook.

Lenovo ThinkPad X300 Notebook PC Review taken from laptoping “In this laptop, there is a variety of networking and connectivity features, including the Intel 4965AGN (802.11a/b/g/n) wireless, Gigabit Ethernet, Bluetooth, Verzon’s WWAN broadband option, a GPS receiver, optional USB modem, and the Intel UWB Link 1480 on select models, providing Wireless USB functionality. In addition, Lenovo says the X300 will support WiMax, when the technology become available. The Lenovo ThinkPad X300 also has a built-in 1.3 megapixel camera on selected models, a fingerprint reader, three USB ports, and a VGA output. The notebook does not have a PC Card or ExpressCard slot”

Lenovo ThinkPad X300 Notebook PC Review taken from latestlaptop” Lenovo has finally released the ThinkPad X300; the notebook PC to put MacBook Air to shame. Sure, at 0.73-inch at its thinnest point, the Air is still thinner. But I’d surmise that features and functionalities are valued more than the thinness of a notebook. Weighing in at only 2.93 pounds, Lenovo ThinkPad X300 runs on Intel Centrino with vPro technology, and features 13.3-inch LED backlight WXGA+ LCD display, 1.8-inch 64 GB SSD, up to 4 GB memory, integrated fingerprint reader, and a built-in 7-millimeter slim DVD burner which takes the cake

Difference Between Laptop and Desktop Computer

February 6, 2010 by admin

Computer is a important part of our life now. many years ago. we are often use desk computer for our life and work for  promotion. and the latest few years, computer has developed from desk computer to laptop. and get more and more portable. but do you know what is the Difference between Laptop and Desktop computer?

It’s easier for a desktop computer to have a bigger memory and to hold more RAM than a laptop computer simply because there is more space available for the storage.

The space in a desktop computer will often allow the user to choose almost unlimited accessories and options that a laptop computer just may not have the space to hold. Things like a top speed processor, the latest state of the art sound and graphics cards, extra ports for external linking and more than enough storage space for all of the programs, music and video clips that you’ll ever need.

The extra space also comes with one more big benefit that you don’t often find with a laptop - the ability to easily upgrade. This means that you can keep your machine from becoming obsolete for much longer by continually adding the latest programs, components and accessories.

The one glaring advantage a laptop computer holds over its desktop counter part is portability. If you have a job that requires you to travel, or if you’re a student living in a closet sized dormitory with three others students, a laptop computer is practically a necessity. No matter how powerful or fast your desktop computer is, you can’t unplug it, take it to the subway and finish writing your report while you travel.

Despite the common misconception that all desktop computers are more powerful than all laptops, the laptop computers of today have much better technology in them than the laptops of yesterday. You will pay more for a supper powerful laptop than you will for the same caliber desktop, but then again, the lower price of the desktop won’t help you on the go.

I think the above illustrations tell you that both types of computer can be the best, depending on situation. The key isn’t between choosing one over the other, it’s in choosing the best computer of the type that you choose.

You need to get online and do some research on the different brands of computers to find what the best and most reliable machines are. There are a slew of different manufacturers producing computers today, you need to find which manufacturer is producing the best reviewed computers of the type that you have determined that you need and base your decision on those facts.

Buying a computer from a reputable and reliable manufacturer will ensure that you get a high quality machine. This is a piece of equipment that will be a big part of your life, hopefully, for years to come; you shouldn’t look to get the cheapest price if it will mean that you are sacrificing quality. Never spend your hard earned money on a machine that has gotten a host of unfavorable reviews, or on a machine that you’ve never heard of.

misunderstanding about the use of notebook batteries

Except the quality of laptop battery will cause a explosion, the improper use of the users themselves are also easy to let the battery have a safety-related incidents.Experts suggested that consumers should avoid the following five situations as far as possible.

Misunderstanding one:Fill notebook lithium batteries as much as possible when used with.Lithium battery charging and discharging excessively will reduce the  activity of the battery. Therefore,in the use of process,do not deliberately charging to 100%,used till automatic shutdown of electricity run out.Generally, when there only 10%,we need start charging, charging about 98 percent can stop the charge, this will not create the harm to the battery.

Misunderstanding two:As long as power shutdown can also be placed on the bed.So easy to trigger a fire batteries overheating, we should avoid this situations.

Misunderstanding three: Removing the battery when doesn’t use it to avoid over-charging.The problem of over-charging for a well-designed lithium battery is non-existent,because the lithium battery has protection circuit. When the battery control lamp extinguishes explained that has not carried on charges. However, the lithium batteries in the overheated environment, the aging faster. So,if we don’t use the battery often, take down it to prevent damage caused by overheating.

Misunderstanding four:Full of power can draw power continue to use it,to do so,except  causing a reduction in battery’s life, also uses the alternating current and the battery, will also create machine’s overheated,it is easy to damage the other components.

Misunderstanding Five:  The battery needs to fill the electricity or to give out the electro-optic to preserve. Notebook lithium batteries require activated regularly, whether it is fully charged or released photoelectric are not correct.Put the battery discharge so long, the battery will lose activity, full charge will bring out security risks.Appropriate way to deal with is the discharge of 30%, 40% preserved.

Asus G50V Review

The tagline “Republic of Gamers” are being used by ASUS to show that this product are targeting gamers segment. However, if the tagline is usually used for graphics cards and motherboards, Asus is now also introducing a notebook which entry in the families of Republic of Gamers. There is Asus G50V is, a 15.4-inch notebook, which is entitled to the title. Asus designer seems to know how to make this G50 thick feel of the gamers. With the dynamic indentation decorated detail, the contrast color with combination of black and orange, and the emblazon of the light blue on the logo and the touchpad, make this notebook looks and feels cool. Can be said, this is one of the coolest notebook on the market at this time.

But certainly not only the look that make this notebook having the title of notebook for gamers. Behind the cool look there is high ckass components being used on this notebook, start from the processor being used which is Intel Core 2 Duo T9600 (2.8 GHz), 4GB DDR2 memory and GeForce 9700GT graphics card with 512MB. This devices combination make the performance ready to race, not only when compared with Toshiba Qosmio F50 notebook, but also when i’m comparing it with all notebooks that i had tested before. One more charm that make this notebook more shining is the presence of two harddisk slots to reach 600GB capacity, this is the biggest capacity on the notebook that i had test.

Not only for playing game, Asus G50V also offering other facility which can be said complete such as Bluray optical device, HDMI connector for High Definition audio video class connection, and eSATA for high speed data transfer. Other facility which should be available on notebook such as WiFi, Bluetooth, webcam and the card reader also available on Asus G50V and make this notebook very usable to be used for everything.

Even if your purpose is simply browsing in your spare time, you do not need to wait because Asus G50V are provided with unique facility called Express Gate. Familiar with this name ? Perhaps, because this facility also being planted by Asus in the motherboard they produce. In simple words, Express Gate is a simple operating system based on Linux. In it there are some simple applications, such as Internet browser, music player and Skype. The booting time to go to Express Gate is about 5 seconds, so it becomes interesting alternative if you want to make simple computing without having to go to Windows Vista that requires more time to boot.

With all of the advantages on Asus G50V, it does not mean that i don’t have any complaint against this notebook. One of the lack is the speakers quality which is not maximum. Although using Altec Lansing as the speakers, the sound produced by the speakers sounded less loud and dry without feel the bass effects. The keyboard also not soft and need extra pressure compared to other notebook i had tested. And for a 15.4-inch notebook class, the dimensions and the weight of Asus G50V reach 3.3 kg which make this notebook are above average and not comfortable for get around.
