Appreciating the Versatile and Visible Mouse Pad

Logo desk items are amongst the top promotional products. And if you would look at your client’s office desk, you would most likely find a computer. So if you really want to have a giveaway that your clients will appreciate and use at their place of work then you should imprint your logo on computers and laptops and start distributing them to your valued clients. But if you are just like most marketers, rational thinkers and have budget constraints (former does not always apply), then you would most likely settle for the 2nd best promo item which is a logo mouse pad.
Logo imprinted mouse pads are a tad cheaper (tad is an understatement) than our first (and absurd) suggestion. Yet, this accessory is at par with a computer in terms of visibility and exposure since there is a very high probability that your client who owns a computer also uses a computer mouse (unless she’s good *cough*weird*cough* enough to had memorized all possible keyboard shortcut out there) which would also need a mouse pad for better control, precision, and speed (unless they prefer a recycled pizza box which also works).
Not yet convinced with the greatness of the promo mouse pads? Aside from being an effective fan during a hot and humid day, (also doubles as a swatter for that pesky fly that fancies your coffee) there are also a number of benefits from the oh-so-humble logo mouse pad:
1.Mouse pads serves as a great mat for computer mice (really?!? I didn’t know that…).
2.Through a mouse pad, the performance of the mouse is greatly improved by enhancing its precision and speed (also true for the recycled pizza box).
3.Mouse pads provide comfort for the user. Some mouse pads with ergonomic designs (ergo- what?) have built-in wrist rest made up of silicone gel or foam that can greatly improve the level of comfort for the mouse user.
4.For polished, reflective, and transparent surface, mouse pads are needed in order for an optical mouse to work effectively.
5.The pad also reduces the collection of dirt under the mouse which causes a jittery pointer displayed in the computer screen (and I always thought the cursor was just tired from all those double-clicking).
6.The desk surface can be worn-out or scratched by the frequent mouse and hand rubbing motion. This problem can easily be prevented by using a mouse pad.
7.Mouse pads have a wide flat surface allowing you to imprint not just your logo but even other important information like contact info and product list (wow that’s even better than MySpace).
8.Logo mouse pads will be placed on the desk of your clients allowing frequent logo exposure not just to your customers but also to their officemates.
With all these benefits, its really hard not to include promotional mouse pads in your marketing strategy.
Is the End Near for the Computer Mouse in the Age of the Touch Screen?

Back in the day when the first computer mouse was invented- it had only one button. The reason it had only one button was so you couldn’t make a mistake as to which button to push and it was just straightforward and non-complicated. The simplest and most straightforward things are not complicated and easy to use. Sometimes perfection can be improved upon. The Microsoft mouse emerged into a mouse having two, and at times 3 buttons and the wheel which didn’t complicate the mouse if anything it just made it more functional and increased usability.
?
Soon, the computer mouse became as apart of the office desk we all have come to know- mouse pads were invented to make it easier to use the mouse, wireless mice came on the market, needing only a small laser to connect the mouse to the curser onto your computer screen. Next- ergonomic mouse was invented to include the comfort of all of the digits not just the index and middle fingers. And over the years, the computer mouse continues to evolve.
?
Touch screen technology and Glidepoint and Glidetouch technologies have now made the computer mouse more accessible. Laptops and other forms of portable computer devices use touchpad and trackpads in place of the computer mouse allowing a user to use their fingertips, as a person would use a computer mouse to control a curser making control of computer functions that much easier. Touch screen technology has made way for our fingertips to replace the computer mouse. Could the computer mouse be cast away so quickly?
?
Where will we see the next phase of the computer mouse? The computer mouse may not die out completely as we move into the future of the touch screen, but we may see the computer mouse technology turn itself into more remote functions than ever before with remote technology taking over large screens like pointer laser pens with more purpose or computer mice with much more control.
?
Who knows what new technology will bring or remove to our everyday computer use? If anything, technology will continue to evolve, taking the computer mouse with it and like everything else in natural selection- only the best survive.
Laptop Computer Accessory - Deciding When To Buy

Now that you’ve got your laptop computer, it’s only natural to accessorize. A laptop computer accessory may be necessary or just plain fun, but either way, there are lots of options.
The standard accessories are a computer mouse (unless you don’t mind solely using a laptop’s convenient touch pad) and any software that compliments your computer use. Additional accessories like a printer, scanner, and headphones are pretty common and grander add-ons like larger speakers or a microphone definitely can enhance your computer use (at least when the laptop is safe and cozy at home and not being shuffled around places). A more internal way of improving your computer’s sound system, as opposed to purchasing cumbersome speakers, is an audio card.
Another popular laptop computer accessory of late is the web cam. Web cams record still and/or motion video and transfer it all in real-time to other computers via an internet connection. A businessman may want a web cam so he can participate in videoconferences, while others may use it to stay in touch with family and friends.
There is a laptop computer accessory or two for whatever your needs and desires. As you may note, necessity is the mother of invention. At first you might be overwhelmed by the sheer quantity of available laptop computer accessories. Many people fall into the trap of buying just about every cool looking accessory they can put their hands on. However they end up not using 90% of the bells and whistles they bought. Before buying any type of laptop computer accessory be sure you really need it. The only way to know if you really need something for your new laptop is to go without any accessories for the first couple of weeks. If you notice that you need something extra, like a webcam, then you know it’s time to make a new acquisition.
